California Jewelry Store Owner Thwarts Smash-and-Grab Attempt With Firearm

-

When contemporary politicians fail, the is still here to allow Americans to take the matter of defending their life, liberty and property into their own hands.

jewelry store owner Usman Bhatti was recently able to defend both his life and his property during a close call on a would-be smash-and-grab attempt.

The attempted robbers ran into his store and one shattered a jewelry case with a crowbar before Usman sprung into action, pushing one of the assailants.

Bhatti then stepped back and aimed his handgun on the primary attacker. The man then turned to Bhatti and raised the crowbar, readying himself to strike a blow, before realizing that Bhatti was armed. Another attacker can be seen in the background of the security camera footage provided by Bhatti brandishing a firearm.

The assailants were deterred from continuing their attack on his business — proceeding to run away from the scene of the incident — although no shots were fired by either party.

Bhatti's defense maneuver was described by Newmax's Greg Stinchfield as “textbook” and while being interviewed by Stinchfield, Bhatti confirmed that he had in fact been trained for a situation such as this, knowing that such an incident was all but inevitable.

During his appearance on Newsmax's “Stinchfield,” Bhatti was asked by host Greg Stinchfield if having his firearm saved his life that day.

Bhatti responded:

“Yes, obviously. Obviously Sir. Otherwise, it would have been a totally different story. What has happened. I mean if I didn't have a firearm, then totally, totally you would have seen a different side of it. I mean, you wouldn't be interviewing me. Maybe you would be attending my funeral. Because, no matter what, I was going to stop that. I was going to use my force.”

Usman's store — Maaz Jewelers — is located in the Tanforan Mall in San Bruno, California — just south of San Francisco in the Bay Area.

During another interview, Fox News host Carley Shimkus pressed Bhatti on the current state of affairs across the — and in California specifically — that even led to an incident such as this taking place.

Shimkus set the scene for viewers, painting a dire picture for those unfamiliar with California's surge in violent . “Police showed up within minutes, and when they did show up they weren't even surprised that something like this happened, and for good reason — because these smash and grab robberies are happening all the time. Why do you think there has been such an increase in crime in California and across the country?”

Bhatti replied “laws, because they know they will get away with it. Nothing has happened so far. Nobody is doing anything,” he then followed up, saying “even if they do get caught, they are all teenagers, imagine how long they would go to jail for.” … “After 18 years (of age) they would have a clean record.”

Bhatti ended the interview by saying “The reason that I speak out, actually, is because nothing has happened. I wanted to reach out to lawmakers to do something but nothing happened. Nothing happened.”

  1. The jewelry store owner is lucky, so far. With the left wing loonies they have out there running the government, from governor on down, it’s a wonder Bhatti hasn’t been arrested for even having that handgun. The United States constitution doesn’t mean much in California.

  2. If you store owners don’t stand your God given rights then YOU are a target for the next criminal to enter & destroy your hard earned property. If able get a firearm go through gun safety classes you won’t regret it. I am a store owner and willing to shoot any crumb that tries to rob. The police cannot be every place, but if attack comes BE Prepared.
