Liberty Rising Brief: Religious Freedom Under Threat

-

“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” ― Abraham Lincoln

THE DAY AT A GLANCE:

Religious and gay rights will face the Supreme Court this fall.

At the center of the case is a female web designer who asserts that creating wedding websites for homosexual couples goes against her religious beliefs. The case mirrors Jack Phillips' 2018 Supreme Court win, wherein he argued he reserved the right to refuse to bake wedding cakes for same-sex couples.

In a court filing, the designer, Lorie Smith's business is described as seeking to “promote her understanding of marriage as between one man and one woman, and she would like to post an online statement explaining she can only speak messages that are consistent with her religious convictions.”

However, 's Anti-Discrimination Act bans such statements and prohibits her from refusing service.

In other news, critical findings from Special Counsel John Durham's office link Spygate to the Clinton Campaign. Here are four key discoveries mainstream won't report:

  1. The Clinton Campaign Paid for Russian Disinformation to Be Peddled to the Feds and Media via the Steele Dossier
  2. The Clinton Campaign Paid for Fake Intel Supplied by a Clinton Crony and Long-Time Democrat to Feed to the and Press
  3. The Clinton Campaign Peddled More than the Steele Dossier
  4. Rodney Joffe's Pro Bono Support of Clinton

Find the details as reported by The Federalist

Reporting by the New York Times suggests the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention () is withholding certain data.

Only a “tiny fraction” has been released, according to insiders.

Kristen Nordlund, a spokeswoman for the C.D.C., said the agency has been slow to release the different streams of data ‘because basically, at the end of the day, it's not yet ready for prime time.' She said the agency's ‘priority when gathering any data is to ensure that it's accurate and actionable.' Another reason is fear that the information might be misinterpreted, Ms. Nordlund said, ‘The performance of vaccines and boosters, particularly in younger adults, is among the most glaring omissions in data the C.D.C. has made public.'

Despite refusing to publish vital data, the CDC continues to masquerade as a fourth branch of government. Since March of 2020, the organization has proven to be unreliable as its recommendations continuously shift.

First, masks with masks and now with vaccines. In August of 2021, the CDC reported that “Vaccination Offers Higher Protection than Previous COVID-19 Infection.” However, in January of 2022, the CDC admitted that natural immunity provides greater protection than vaccination alone.

However, as The Federalist reported,

The CDC's reversal came after its previous discounting of natural immunity caused mass layoffs, nursing home resident isolation, and hospital staffing shortages. It must not be forgotten or overlooked, and the CDC must be held accountable.

One more thing, after President Biden announced sanctions against , Press Secretary Jen Psaki warned of an increase in already-high gas prices.

Furthermore, FBI cyber officials are warning US companies of ransomware attacks.

While the invasion has just begun, the far-reaching impact of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is seemingly inevitable.

ALN will continue reporting on the conflict as it unfolds.

Celebrating Liberty:

On this day in 1945, six US Marines raised the American flag atop Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima. The iconic image has come to symbolize resilience and the sacrifice of war. There is a statue of the photo located in Arlington, VA, called the Marine Corps War Memorial (1954) and dedicated to all Marine veterans.
