Liberty Rising Brief: Ukrainian Refugees, Inflation and Putin

-

Show me that age and country where the rights and liberties of the people were placed on the sole chance of their rulers being good men, without a consequent loss of liberty?” ― Patrick Henry

As yesterday's predicted, the Senate passed the $1.5 trillion spending bill.

According to Wall Street Journal,

The omnibus delivers on some priorities of both parties, such as the increased funding for child care and climate resiliency sought by Democrats and higher military spending pushed by Republicans. It includes billions of dollars requested by individual members for projects in their districts, representing the first time in more than a decade that the earmarks have been employed.

Now, the bill will travel to President Biden's desk where it is suspected to be greeted with support.

In other government news, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced plans to extend its mask recommendations for airlines and other public transit.

The announcement arrives amid fluctuating mask policies as states and other institutions begin to reverse policies.

Also, as the economic impacts of war become more evident, the is predicted to continue redirecting blame.

In the same breath, according to the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics, the consumer price index increased by nearly 8% in 12 months. Analysts suggest the trend will continue, especially as the war brings more uncertainty.

Speaking of uncertainty, Vice President Kamala Harris was giggling unprofessionally once again. Watch the embarrassing video below:

Her response, or lack thereof, raises questions regarding the long-term plan for Ukrainian refugees in America.

That's it for today. See you tomorrow!
