Cruz Introduces Bills After Investigators Uncover Russian Effort to Stymie US Energy Production

-

is leading the charge to restore America's energy independence with two new pieces of legislation in the .

The Texas senator promptly took action after investigators announced that the Russian government was bankrolling efforts by environmental groups to shut down U.S. oil and gas production.

The Kremlin reportedly uses offshore shell companies to send “tens of millions” of dollars to groups like the Sierra Club to advance anti-American energy policies.

A press release from Sen. Cruz's office has more on his plan to increase U.S. energy production:

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), along with John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), ranking member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources (ENR), and Senators Jim Risch (R-Idaho), John Hoeven (R-N.D.), Roger Marshall (R-Kan.), and Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.), introduced two bills to increase energy development and production in the United States hindered by actions of the .

The first bill, the Lease Now Act, would require the Department of the Interior (DOI) to resume and maintain onshore and offshore federal oil and gas lease sales. It would also direct DOI to create a new five-year offshore oil and gas leasing plan.

The second bill, the Opportunities for the Nation and States to Harness Onshore Resources for Energy (ONSHORE) Act, would empower states to manage the development and production of oil and gas on federal lands within their borders.

About the bills Senator Cruz said:

“President Biden's war on American energy production is having devastating results for everyone in Texas from the oil and gas workers to families just trying to drive to school and work. The Lease Now Act and the ONSHORE Act would immediately restart federal oil and gas leasing, while empowering states to manage their own energy development and production.”

  1. So trump was accused of Russian collusion, with no proof and was eventually exonerated. Dopey joe’s energy policy directly coincides with russia’s: Russia and joe want to shut it down wherever possible. Coincidence?
Trump was also accused of quid pro quo with no evidence, while there is video evidence of dopey joe bragging about his quid pro quo.
    Another coincidence?

  2. You know something is wrong when the Russians are backing one of the moron in chief’s plan. We need to boot these guys from the Whitehouse ASAP. This guy should never have been elected and wouldn’t have been if not for meddling by foreign commies in 2020 bankrolling their get out the vote drives and other assorted commie organizations in America that helped bend and break all the laws it took to subvert the election.

  3. The author of this article is a liar. The article leads off about “Russians” and “the Kremlin,” when the the bills introduced by Cruz have nothing to do with Russia. They have everything to do with Biden’s shutdown of oil & gas leases. Biden is the responsible party. Biden is not a Russian asset, he is an enemy of Russia.

  4. As great as these bills would be for the country, the Biden crew, and their backers, don’t want them to become law, and since they hold control of both houses of congress, they will never get approved. The best chance for this country is to purge the liberal democrats this fall and again in 2024 so we can get things done that will put this country back on the right track. Anybody that says they are better off today than they were from 2016-2020 is not only lying to themselves, but the rest of the country.
