NATIONAL SECURITY

FBI seizes retired general's data related to Qatar lobbying. New federal court filings obtained Tuesday outlined a potential criminal case against former Marine Gen. John R. Allen.

HOMELAND SECURITY

DEMOCRAT CRIME WAVE – Governor willing to send National Guard to Chicago, if asked. Gov. indicated Monday he would be willing to deploy the to help deal with a violent crime spree in , but only if he's asked to do so.

GOOD! – Veteran status will be considered in deportation cases, new ICE directive says. When non-citizen are detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, policy dictates that service records are considered when deciding whether to force deportation.

WATCH OUT FOR THOSE ‘EXTREMIST' VETS – Veterans make up most of Proud Boys members indicted on sedition for Jan. 6 violence. Nearly all of the five members of the Proud Boys extremist group who were indicted by federal authorities this week for seditious conspiracy related to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol are veterans, according to court documents and the military services.

THREAT

BUILDING A TRUE TRIAD – H-20: China's plan for a new deep-strike stealth bomber. The Xian H-20 stealth bomber is most likely intended as an aircraft that would be able to carry both nuclear and conventional munitions, all internally, to maintain its stealth status.

What happens in Ukraine doesn't stay in Ukraine: Austin adds clarity. The two theaters do differ in obvious ways — Taiwan as an island invokes a different wartime scenario. But, at a geostrategic level, the similarities overwhelm the divergences. Threatened by powerful, aggressive neighbors, Ukraine and Taiwan are vibrant democracies whose value systems challenge the legitimacy of the authoritarian regimes in Moscow and Beijing. Both are on the frontlines of the global struggle between freedom and autocracy.

RUSSIA THREAT

GIVE ‘EM MORE – Kyiv asks for more rocket systems as Kremlin warns of potential strikes in Russia. The Kremlin alleged Ukraine might fire the multiple-launch rocket systems at targets inside Russia, though Kyiv has agreed to use the weapons only within its territory.

Russia-Ukraine war: List of key events, day 105. Russia's defence minister Sergei Shoigu said 97 percent of the Luhansk region, one of the two provinces that make up Ukraine's Donbas, is under Russian control, adding that Russian forces “liberated” the residential quarters of Severodonetsk. Soldiers are “successfully holding back the assault in the city of Severodonetsk” and were holding off attacks in Toshkivka and Ustynivka, the Ukraine general staff said.

Sweden's NATO bid is in trouble. Domestic have elevated a Kurdish parliamentarian, and that worsens Stockholm's Turkey woes.

What to know about Severodonetsk, the Ukrainian city Russia wants to capture. The eastern Ukrainian city of Severodonetsk, near the border between Luhansk and Donetsk, has emerged as a focal point of Russia's war in Ukraine in recent weeks.

Allied fighter formations show resolve in wake of North Korean missile tests. U.S. and South Korean fighter jets flew together Tuesday in a display of force two days after an unprecedented missile barrage by North Korea.

INTERNATIONAL SECURITY

US-backed Syrian Kurds to turn to Damascus if Turkey attacks. The U.S.-backed and Kurdish-led forces in northern Syria said Tuesday that they will turn to the in Damascus for support should Turkey go ahead with its threat to launch a new incursion into the war-torn country.

US's Blinken warns of threats to media freedom in Americas. Speaking at a press freedom event ahead of the Summit of the Americas, a regional gathering aiming to address economic problems and migration, Blinken said governments in the region were using sweeping legislation and surveillance to quash freedom of press and intimidate journalists.

Turkey starts mass production of miniature drone missile. A Turkish government research agency has started to mass-produce a new miniature munition to be fitted into the Bayraktar TB2 drone, made by a Turkish company Baykar Makina.

BIDEN'S AFGHAN DISASTER

THE FIGHT CONTINUES – Inside the Taliban's secret war in the Panjshir Valley. Taliban forces have been locked for months in a shadowy on-again, off-again battle with opposition fighters based in the Panjshir Valley. Just a few hours' drive north of Kabul, the province has long been an anti-Taliban stronghold and remains the only significant pocket of resistance to the group since the fall of Kabul last August.

  1. National Guard to Chicago? So what? If the Soros-bought DA won’t prefer charges, nothing’s gonna change. As usual, all hat, no cattle. The Progressive “stock in trade.”

    • seems to me, lightfoot shoula have stepped up her game with their own police force….anyone else forced to go and assist them is opening up a whole new set of disasters! enforce laws, FUND POLICE and give them support when they are performing their jobs! this is urgent change that the mayors and governors must be on board with….and they need to explore and implement changes in accordance with law – local and federal.

  2. Gonna get alot of gu!rd injured or killed. They will be sent in areas possibly without weapons or if they have weapons, they will not have AMMO. Once the bangers figure this out it will be like shooting fish in a barrel.
