Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) is arguably the Senate’s most vulnerable incumbent.
Political prognosticators rate her chances of getting reelection as a toss-up, at best. Of course, in a wave election, highly competitive races can quickly morph into landslides once undecided voters break.
One ominous sign that things aren’t going well for Cortez Masto came this week when Nevada’s law enforcement groups rescinded their endorsements for the floundering senator.
Perhaps they have had enough of her party’s anti-law enforcement agenda, which she’s not so secretly embraced.
Once again, another powerful Democrat was too clever by half.
Per the NRSC:
It shouldn’t surprise anyone that these groups are dumping Catherine Cortez Masto. She’s done nothing but push Democrats’ radical ‘defund the police’ agenda because she’s too scared to stand up to Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer. She’s even touted endorsements from anti-police special interest groups.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman Jonathan Turcotte: “Just when you think things couldn’t possibly get worse for the nation’s most vulnerable Senate Democrat, they do. Today’s Democrat party is so weak on crime that Catherine Cortez Masto can’t even earn the endorsement of police groups that previously supported her. These hardworking Nevada law enforcement officials want a Senator who is on their side. Not a Senator like Catherine Cortez Masto who cozies up to anti-police activists.”
