Surprise! Team Biden Wants to Turn Global Anti-Russia Coalition Against Evil China

-

ANALYSIS – Since Vladimir Putin's unjustified naked aggression against began, I have been arguing with some conservative colleagues who insist the war in Ukraine is hyped-up or a distraction. They say that is not the real enemy, is, or that Ukraine is not as pure as the narrative portrays, and they are sometimes correct. (RELATED: Is Putin Using Tucker Carlson to Promote His Russian War Propaganda?)

But, sometimes it is just difficult to admit that your political foes are right about anything. And yes, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

And helping Ukraine defeat this aggression is morally and geopolitically the right thing to do. And one of the primary geopolitical reasons to do so, for me, beyond defending a friendly European country against a brutal invasion, is to show Communist China how the West can coalesce and stand strong against aggression.

Especially as the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the People's Liberation Army (PLA) increasingly threaten to invade independent . (RELATED: Leaked? Audio of Top Secret Chinese Meeting for Invading Taiwan)

My hope throughout this war has been that the West not only helps Ukraine defeat Putin's Russia but that this newly revitalized and strengthened western coalition against Putin can be turned eastward against an even more totalitarian, expansionist and dangerous China under Xi Jinping.

This, a few years after President faced liberal flack for dramatically shifting U.S. policy to directly combat China's growing global belligerence for the first time in decades.

And now I'm very happy and extremely surprised to hear “Beijing Biden's” Secretary of State say just that.

Team Biden wants to lead the international bloc opposed to Russia's invasion of Ukraine into a broader coalition to counter the more serious, long-term threat from China.

The Associated Press reports that:

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Thursday the aims to lead the international bloc opposed to Russia's invasion of Ukraine into a broader coalition to counter what it sees as a more serious, long-term threat to global order from China.

In a speech outlining the administration's China policy, Blinken laid out a three-pillar approach to competing with Beijing in a race to define the 21st century's economic and military balance.

While the U.S. sees Russia and Russian President Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine as the most acute and immediate threat to international stability, Blinken said the administration believes China poses a greater danger.

“Even as President Putin's war continues, we will remain focused on the most serious long-term challenge to the international order — and that is the one posed by the People's Republic of China,” Blinken said.

“China is the only country with both the intent to reshape the international order — and, increasingly, the economic, diplomatic, military, and technological power to do it,” he said. “Beijing's vision would move us away from the universal values that have sustained so much of the world's progress over the past 75 years.”

Thus, Blinken laid out principles for the administration to marshal its resources, friends and allies to push back on increasing Chinese assertiveness around the world. Although he made clear that the U.S. does not seek to change China's political system, rather it wants to offer a tested alternative.

This is one of the best things I've heard come out of this weak, dazed and confused administration since it came to office.

Meanwhile, though not mentioning President Trump by name, AP did credit him indirectly for initiating the much needed hardline against China when it noted that: “The Biden administration has largely kept in place confrontational policies toward China adopted by its predecessor in response to Chinese actions in its western Xinjiang region, Hong Kong, Tibet, and the South China Sea.”

But Trump deserves full credit for being the first U.S. president to aggressively face Communist China and develop strategies and policies to counter its massive military build-up, espionage, aggression and coercion.

And Team Biden's latest statements are an implicit admission of that.

Now, let's see if Biden's future defense budgets and actions live up to Blinken's surprisingly correct new rhetoric and strategy. ALD

  1. Putin is attacking Ukraine dangerously close to the border with Poland. If the Russian military crosses the border in any way, will President Biden be forced to send in US troops and weapons?

Biden is already sending in weapons. He will not send in troops. The West already has troops in Ukraine and they are probably taking actions, directly or indirectly, in Russia. They are training Ukrainians and showing them how to use Western weapons systems.

Unless the attack on Poland was a sustained one, I do not see NATO or the US ratcheting up its involvement in Ukraine. So far it is working.

The US accepts this level of involvement. If Biden were to escalate there might be pushback, particularly in the polls. What he is doing is working and most Americans see no reason to change strategy.

  2. On Friday, news outlets reported that the Biden administration is expected to send multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) to the Eastern European nation. Ukrainian officials have requested the weapons to attack Russians at longer ranges and threaten Russian logistics hubs and routes to slow their offensive in the Donbas region.

In a post on Telegram on Saturday, Russia’s ambassador to the U.S., Anatoly Antonov, said the Biden administration “may give Kyiv HIMARS MLRS and M270 MLRS, which will be equipped with M31 GMLRS guided missiles.”

“There is a risk that such equipment will be placed near Russia’s borders and Ukrainians will be able to strike at Russian cities. Such a situation is unacceptable and intolerable for us,” he said, according to Ukrayinska Pravda.

  3. Vladimir Putin today declared that Russia will ‘conduct a lightning strike’ against countries supporting Ukraine with ‘means and tools’ no country in the world possesses? Could this mean that Nato could come under attack?
Yeah, yeah, we’ve heard that before. 1944, the alleged “Wunderwaffen” of the Nazis. Didn’t work then, won’t work now. It’s propaganda directed at the Russian population, drawing attention away from the war that’s not going as planned.

The worst he can do, short of annihilating the world, is lobbing his remaining few hypersonic missiles at what he hopes will be worthwhile targets.

After that NATO will make mincemeat of his glorious Army within a week. I guess he knows about that.

  4. NO SALE. Slow joe and friends are too beholden to the communist chinese to betray them. He hasn’t let hunter down yet.

  5. In other words, once again it’s back to Trump’s policies.
All we gained from the corrupt 2020 election is silencing Trump’s tweets.
Name one thing that is better now than when Trump was in office.
