Chris Cuomo Accused of Sex Attack Before Firing

-

We all know that says it fired for publicly coaching his brother on how to fend off allegations of .

However, a serious accusation made to CNN's lawyers in December may have played a bigger role.

According to the New York Post, the younger Cuomo badgered an ABC News temp for sex during an office lunch. When she rebuffed his advances, Cuomo “attacked” her.

The incident allegedly happened in 2011, when Cuomo worked at ABC. According to Debra Katz, the woman's lawyer, the meeting was on the face of it a mentoring opportunity.

However, she adds, it became apparent it was anything but.

Per the New York Post:

The unnamed accuser had come forward after Chris Cuomo was suspended from the network on Nov. 30 for helping Gov. Cuomo try to beat back the multiple allegations that ultimately ended his political career, the report said.

“Jane Doe” had long been disgusted by the similarities between the Democrat's accusers' plight and her own, employment lawyer Debra Katz reportedly said.

When the woman arrived, there was no food, and the anchor badgered her for sex, the letter sent to CNN lawyers on Dec. 1 reportedly said.

When she declined his advance, he reportedly attacked her, the letter alleged.

Years later, as the #MeToo movement gained steam, The New York Times reports that Cuomo reached out to his future accuser “to do a flattering piece about her then-employer.”

According to Katz, Cuomo wanted to gauge whether or not “Jane Doe” would likely go public with her accusation and see what he could do to dissuade her.
