AOC Might Not Back Biden in 2024

-

New York Democrat refused to answer a question posed by 's on Sunday about whether or not she would support in 2024.

During an interview on CNN's State of The Union, Bash posed the following question to Ocasio – Cortez:

“I just want to ask about President Biden,” Bash asked the Congresswoman. “He is saying he's going to run again in 2024. Will you support him?”

Ocasio – Cortez didn't give a straight answer, and waffled in her response:

“If the President chooses to run again in 2024, I mean, first of all, I'm focused on winning this majority right now. “And preserving a majority this year in 2022. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. But I think if the president has a vision, then that's something we're all certainly willing to entertain and examine when the time comes.”

Bashed pushed her further, replying “That's not a yes.”

“Yeah, you know, I think we should endorse…when we get to it,” Ocasio-Cortez hastily corrected. “But I believe that the President has been doing a very good job so far.

The Congresswoman continued -“And, you know, should he run again, I think that I — you know, I think it's — we'll take a look at it,” “But right now, we need to focus on winning a majority instead of a Presidential Election.”

As highlighted by Townhall, Ocasio – Cortez's comments closely follow a recent “New York Times report with “dozens of frustrated Democratic officials, members of Congress and voters” about Biden's ability to “rescue his reeling party.”

AOC's hesitancy to support the President mirrors findings from a Morning Consult poll released earlier today.

Key findings released by the group show that “only 43% of young say Biden has been keeping the promises he made during 2020, compared with 60% of the average Democratic voter who said the same.”

Biden's most recent approval rating drop has been driven by Democratic women aged 18 – 34, a group in which Representative Ocasio – Cortez squarely finds herself.

  1. I cannot for the life of me understand the concerns of the Democratic Party luminaries. After all, the same people using the same equipment will be counting the votes in both the 2022 and 2024 elections. What’s the problem?

  2. My guess is that Beijing Joe would be perfectly happy with the lack of Almost Occasionally-Cogent’s support. (When did the support of a total twit ever _help_ a pols case?)

  3. Don’t back Brandon, because he is senile, but you sholdn’t run again, either. You are downright dangerous because many people listen to you. I don’t, other than to laugh..

  4. AOC should by her own oath of office should be removd. She is not supportive of the very Nation who pays her. yet double standard. An individual, except the President, elected or appointed to an office of honor or profit in the civil service or uniformed services, shall take the following oath: “I, AB, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.” This section does not affect other oaths required by law. (Pub. L. 89–554, Sept. 6, 1966, 80 Stat. 424.)
