In a statement released earlier this week, American Petroleum Institute (API) President and CEO Mike Sommers had some harsh words for President Biden.
A key oil industry leader, Sommers said in a statement released by his organization that “the administration's misguided policy agenda shifting away from domestic oil and natural gas has compounded inflationary pressures and added headwinds to companies' daily efforts to meet growing energy needs while reducing emissions.”
Sommers also highlighted a letter that API sent to the Administration earlier this week, which lays out ten key propositions policymakers could take to restore America as a global energy leader, instead of forcing the Biden Administration to make deals with adversarial nations to supply the country with oil.
The group states that “Washington policymakers must confront the global mismatch between demand and supply that has driven higher fuel prices by supporting greater U.S. production.”
Biden is butting heads with the oil industry at a time when gas prices across the county are hitting historic record highs.
CBS reported earlier this week that “according to the American Automobile Association, average gas prices throughout the nation reached the highest recorded price on Tuesday at $5.01 per gallon. The average price is up $2 in comparison to last year.”
Biden seems to currently be looking abroad for solutions to America's energy crisis. The President has plans to visit Saudi Arabia in July.
The left is stymying domestic oil production till socialism rules in th US when the government can then take over oil production and channel revenues to feed the socialist beast and line their own pockets. Any domestic oil pumped till the socialist take over is seen as lost future government revenues.

The Oil Industry is Killing the economy by its greed. We are seeing the same thing Now as the stunt they pulled during the Carter Administration. They have the Oil and have been selling much of it oversees to the highest bidder. Unfortunately Oil keeps the industry and transportation systems rolling. They Know it and are holding the American Public Hostage until they can Milk every dime from the American peoples and are willing to pay there inflated high price. They did it in Carters administration when they when they wanted the price at the pump to exceed $1 per Gal. It worked then and they are doing it again.
