Poll Shows Who Voters Would Prefer in Trump-Biden Rematch

Another poll shows 's lead growing in a hypothetical rematch with President Biden.

According to the latest Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey, the former president now has a three point edge over his successor.

The Hill further reports:

The results were evenly split at 46% among women, while men backed Trump by a margin of 50% to 43%. Biden won urban voters by 20 percentage points and suburban voters by four percentage points, but Trump romped among rural voters by 33 percentage points.

Biden Continues to Lose Ground

The poll comes as Biden plays defense on a slate of issues, including inflation, stubbornly high rates of coronavirus infections and the messy withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Two-thirds of voters also disapprove of the administration's plan to pay reparations to illegal immigrants.

Democrats have sought to rebut criticism by highlighting rising job growth and an intense vaccination push while arguing Republicans are downplaying the need for Americans to get inoculated.

Should Trump run, he would likely skate to the 2024 GOP nomination, according to the poll.

An Oct. 27-28, 2020 Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll showed Biden with an eight percentage point advantage over Trump.

Ultimately, Biden bested Trump by a four-point margin nationally. However, Biden's Electoral College victory only came down to tens of thousands of votes in Georgia, Wisconsin and combined.
